What do you do when you go for an outreach unprepared? How do you go from 0 to 100 within a second so you can deliver adequately? Especially when the “suffer-head” sun is out….
Well that was my predicament on Saturday, 20th August. I wasn’t really prepared to attend an outreach but I just had to because I saw it as an opportunity to push the work we do at SHP Initiative out there, so I took it!
Pamilerin, under The Pamilerin Foundation took to IDP Camp in Abuja, to distribute sanitary pads and educate women/girls on menstrual hygiene management and through Padman Africa Platform, I got an opportunity to represent SHP Initiative to support the outreach. It was really exciting and educative.
During the outreach, I was thrown aback by a question on child delivery and menstruation that I didn’t know. Oh well, thanks to google and medical experts, I was able to disgrace the god of disgrace! Now this brings me to the point of self investment in your field and keeping up-to-date with the latest information.
How prepared are we when we finally come in contact with that opportunity?
P.S. It was a fun, engaging and networking outreach!
