I look in the mirror

I see an image

The being the world didn’t welcome

So I wear a mask

To hide it all away

To play a game I don’t understand

So I don’t have to face the truth

That this is not me

That this is all fake!

I become a wolf in sheep covering

To hide the true reflections of me

Less they see and refuse to accept me

So I emerge in my disguise

And they welcome me

Like a newborn in the hands of his mother,

They receive me

Because its who we all are,

Who we’ve become

Exotic Locations, delicious delicacies

Flowers that breathe fresh air

Scents that captivate the soul

A skin that radiates at dawn

Wine that tastes satisfaction

A life that brings luxury relaxation

These and many more,

I drown myself in

To keep up that life

The one called Fake!
They say “haven’t you heard?”

They say, “It works like magic!”

They say, “It will happen quickly”

They say, “We are here for you”

They say, “Trust us”

But I forget that fast and furious doesn’t always get the reward

So I step in

With false hopes

And then I realize it’s not all smooth and shinny, Because it’s fake!

Maybe one day, We’ll decide to forsake the lies, and live in the truth

Maybe one day, We’ll finally be free, and the misery over
Maybe one day, we’ll find our path, and leave another’s.
