We make a living by what we get, but we make a life by what we give.” – Winston Churchill

“To be wealthy, powerful or famous does mot matter to me. Starting a social good ripple that will turn to an ocean wave matters to me.”
Petek Kabakci

Social Responsibility is the obligation of an organization’s management towards the welfare and interests of the society in which it operates.

It simply states – businesses or companies should ensure there’s a balance between their profit making activities and society beneficial activities by building a positive relationship with the society in which they operate.

It’s an ethical practice where individuals take responsibility for their actions.

Being Socially Responsible means that people and organizations must behave ethically and with sensitivity toward social, cultural, economic and environmental issues. Striving for social responsibility helps individuals, organizations and governments have a positive impact on development, business and society with a positive contribution to bottom-line results.

Naomi Enevaldson

What social responsibility does is  to create a sense of duty, and puts a conscious awareness in the minds of business owners the kind of impact their businesses will have on the society, consumers, environment and their stakeholders as well.

It also contributes to sustainable development by delivering social, environmental and economic benefits for all.

Corporate Social Responsibility

Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) is a business approach that contributes to sustainable development by delivering economic, social and environmental benefits for all stakeholders.

This is a broad concept with many practices, different understandings and implementation techniques varying from nation and organization. However, it addresses topics like human rights, corporate governance, health and safety, effective working conditions, environmental situations; with the aim of driving sustainable change.

At FBIN we promote social responsibility; we encourage government Agencies, Civil Society Organizations, NGO’s, Youth Organization, Private & Public Firms as well as Businesses; to engage in social responsibility as this improves public image, increase creativity, encourages growth, among several other benefits.

We also deliver on our words; on our YFarm Project Farm, we recycle waste products through compost harvesting, we champion projects that affect vulnerable people, train youth for free in Agribusiness and promote climate smart Agriculture.

The theme for our YFarm Project II is : BUILDING A CLIMATE RESILIENT GENERATION. With this project, we are empowering youth to establish and maintain climate smart farms due to the increase in climate conditions.

Individual Social Responsibility (ISR)

Individual Social Responsibility (ISR) is also a new concept in relation to Social Responsibility that promotes a proactive way towards positively influencing and affecting one’s community and immediate circle.

People make up the systems, so if individual become more socially responsible, it will in turn speak about their Corporate Social Responsibility Ethics.

We all have a part to play in ensuring that social responsibility is established, maintained and structured to promote sustainability.
