“Aunty, she no put am well, well (she didn’t put it well),” the other lady said.
“Na lie, I put, you dey there (it’s a lie, i did, where you around when it happened)?
“If you put am true true, why e no stay (If you actually did, why didn’t it sit on her hair)?” the first lady continued.
Apparently, a customer brought a complaint that her didn’t relax well, and blames were flying east to west of the salon. Although the relaxer was not for her hair type because she needed something stronger, it wasn’t properly applied in the first place. If the relaxer is applied close to your skin first, the hair can burn.
The culprit lady apologized and promised to apply the cream properly next time.
As Sharon Jaynes of GirlfriendInGod put it – “I can read God’s word from cover to cover, go to Bible studies year after year, and read Christian living books stacked high. But unless I apply the principles properly, they lay dormant in my soul. I won’t be any different than I was before the study. I won’t act any different then before I read the word. I won’t feel any different than before I underlined and highlighted that inspiring book. Imagine the world with God-fearing people who applied what they’ve learned.
One powerful thing about this is we get to grow spiritually, our inner man is renewed, we begin to see the desired change we hope for, now isn’t that so exciting?
In this year, let’s make a conscious effort of applying the truths we’ve learned. We’ve received the word long enough, we’ve shouted ‘Word’ to every rhema spoken its time to act.
Not down five principles learned from a devotional, book, a sermon or scripture and how you’ve applied these truths in your everyday life. I’m currently on it too. Check back in a few weeks.
Lord, I want to proper apply your word in my life. I don’t want to be just a hearer,I want the word to show forth in me. Convict me when I turn away from your word. Holy Spirit, teach me how to maintain these truths in my life.
In Jesus’ Name,
