October 1, 2017 | For the love of country.
It’s a beautiful Sunday morning, doesn’t feel like a Sunday, maybe it’s because there’s no early morning preparation activity going on for church, or it’s the excitement and stress of switching houses, or maybe because I’m waking up lazy! Either ways, it’s Sunday, and it’s Nigeria’s Birthday….
I remember my last post concerning Nigeria, and I’m amazed, firstly, as to how I’ve grown in mind and purpose. I’ve come to realize that my destiny is beyond me and therefore I have to take responsibility for it.
We are 57 as a nation, and I still wonder if we really want that. There’s a lot of strife, evil and oppositions which makes me wonder who we are deceiving with all the stage play of #OneNigeria.
Don’t get me wrong, all I’m saying is if it means so much to you, you should act on it. How do you perceive the Fulani man, the Yoruba dude that’s not your speck or the calabar girl that looks igbotic?
While preparing breakfast, the Holy Spirit ministered to me: What exactly is your goal for Nigeria? How do you plan to impact this nation, what contributions are you willing to offer? Be specific, have a vision board and run with it! I stood frozen, it had never occurred to me. I’ve listened to Sir Fela Durotoye talk about being a change catalyst and I wrote down in my goals diary that I’d partner with him on that but then it came clear this morning.
I understood in those seconds that purpose is bigger that just satisfying my needs or wants it goes beyond that. As Mummy Dee’s voice blasted in tongues in the background (via online COZA media) praying about the peace of Nigeria I couldn’t help but thank God for the opportunity He gives me to be part of something great.
So the message is: What results do you want to see in Nigeria through you! Write it, Plan towards it and Act.
Happy 57th Independence Nigeria. My #HopeForNigeria is that we grow in Love, Unity and Patriotism.
God bless Nigeria.
